Dial Club
1962-1997
AC 385

The Dial Club was founded in 1962 by Walter Voskuil, Professor of Mineral Economics. It was a loosely organized group of university affiliated faculty who met once a month during the academic year. The program was a talk from a colleague on a topic not necessarily related to the speaker's area of instruction or research. The club flourished during the 1960s and 1970s, and for many years the programs were hand printed by Kenneth Carpenter, founder of the Black Rock Press. Attendance declined in the 1990s, and the last meeting was held on May 21, 1997.

The collection includes four books which lists date, title of the program, speaker, and those in attendance. Also included are copies of the yearly programs produced by the Black Rock Press, 1965/66-1969/70, a small amount of general correspondence, and a questionnaire distributed in October 1995, on continuing the club.
