1/9   Nevada State Concerns

In the category Nevada State Concerns, there is material that could have been put into the Federal Section, but time would not permit the separation.  For example, the classification Education contains both state and federal material mixed in the individual folders.  The federal material intermingled in the state subjects, however, does pertain indirectly to Nevada.  Other subject areas that have a combination of federal-state material are Airports and Airlines, Atomic Energy Commission, Mining and the Military.

1/11   Personal/Political

Around 1960-1970 the filing system in Senator Bible’s office was changed. Different topical headlines for the various file drawers were substituted. An effort has been made to keep the filing system in somewhat the same order as was found in the Senator’s office. Consequently, material is spread around in different areas.

Public activities and Publicity are examples of new topical headings. Material such as requests and visitors are found under Miscellaneous and Public Activities.  Press Releases were also switched to Publicity; both of which can be found in the Personal/Political category.

Note: In 1992 the Special Collections Department received an increment to the Eva Adams papers which included carbon copies of letters from Bible’s office on many subjects, 1958 to 1960.  They have been placed Box 325 as NC1/11/14.
