1. Academic Search Premier provides access to articles from thousands of scholarly journals, newspapers, and magazines. To get to Academic Search Premier from the Knowledge Center homepage, click on the RESEARCH tab. Then choose ARTICLES.
2. At the top of the list of subject areas, click on Search Academic Search Premier for scholarly articles on a wide range of topics. To begin your search, enter your search terms in the boxes at the top of the page, and use connectors (and, or, not) to link your terms. You can limit your search by a number of factors, such as scholarly/peer reviewed journals, publication date, publication type, etc., by clicking on the appropriate box or filling in the appropriate information below the search boxes. Click Search to find articles.
3. Scroll through the results page to find relevant articles. You can limit your results even further by: (1) adding more search terms in the boxes at the top, (2) clicking on a term on the left, or (3) choosing one of the options on the right, such as limiting to Full Text or Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals, or Filtering by Publication Date. Click on Update Results to update the search with the new criteria. To remove a limiter, click on the X next to it at the top of the search results. You can hold your cursor over the magnifying glass next to each title to the see the abstract, or summary, of the article. Click on the title to see the full citation.
4. The icons at the top of the page allow you to print, email, save, view citation help, export to a bibliographic manager, or add the item to a folder. If you want to retrieve the full article, click on the Full Text link. If there is no link to full text, click on the FIND IT button to find the full text of the article in another databases. If you want to return to the list of Results, click on Result List. Scroll through your list to review other articles of interest.
5. Note that you can click on Choose Databases at the top of the page to bring up a list of other EBSCO databases.
6. Move your cursor over the magnifying glass to learn more about each database. You can check the box next to a database of interest and then click OK at the bottom of the page to search multiple databases at one time.
