EndNote Web's Cite While You Write
EndNote Web’s Cite While You Write Microsoft Word plug-in allows you to find and insert in-text citations and full bibliographic references from your EndNote Web library as you write a paper.
To begin using EndNote Web’s Cite While You Write, follow these instructions:
1. To install the Cite While U Write plug-in, choose My EndNote Web from the RESEARCH tab on the Knowledge Center homepage, and log in to your EndNote Web account.

2. Choose the Options tab and then click on Download Installers.

3. Then choose the appropriate download under Cite While You Write.

4. After downloading the plug-in, you’ll see an EndNote Web toolbar appear when you open Internet Explorer. When you’re visiting webpages that you’d like to include in your EndNote Web library, you can click on the Capture button to import references directly into your EndNote account.

5. When you open Microsoft Word, you’ll see an EndNote Web tab appear at the top of the page. If you do not have EndNote Web open, you will be prompted to log in to your EndNote Web account with your email address and password. As you write your paper, you can import citations using this toolbar. Choose your preferred style from the drop-down menu, and begin importing citations by choosing Find Citations.

6. To search for a reference, enter one or more keywords into the search box and then click on Search. Highlight a reference and choose Insert at the bottom of the window to import the in-text citation and full reference into your paper.

7. Continue adding citations to your paper. EndNote Web will order the references alphabetically at the end.
